SUMMARY

We are looking for a Payroll Technician to join the Finance team! He/she will be responsible for gathering, verifying, and processing information regarding all aspects of payroll. He/she will work alongside the technician already in place to prepare Canadian payrolls, as well as international payrolls (with the support of our local international payroll services). The person holding the position must be based in Quebec.

YOUR TASKS

 

  • Prepare payroll for employees in Canada and internationally;
  • Complete, verify and process the forms and documents necessary for the administration of social benefits, such as those for retirement plans, leaves, as well as employment insurance and health insurance;
  • Ensure the automated maintenance of employee leave and overtime banks;
  • Prepare and verify employee pay statements, indicating net and gross salaries and withholding taxes, such as taxes and contributions paid to insurance and retirement plans, according to the legal compliance of the employee location;
  • Prepare and enter into the accounting software all entries related to the payroll cycle;
  • Collaborate with the payroll technician to answer questions from employees and managers related to payroll and benefits;
  • Participate in payroll training for new employees, including social benefits, taxes, and RRSPs depending on the site;
  • Prepare and verify various reports such as end of month, end of year, worker’s compensation reports, and tax slips;
  • Participate in the review of expense reports;
  • Other related tasks.

 

PROFESIONNAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • College degree in administration or accounting or any other equivalent training/experience;
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in similar functions in processing a complete payroll cycle.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite software (Word and Excel);
  • Very great sense of organization, attention to detail, and confidentiality.
  • Go-getter, curious, and resourceful personality;
  • Team player with excellent communication and customer service skills;
  • Knowledge of ADP and SAP platforms an asset;
  • Experience in international payroll an asset;
  • Fluent in French (Written and spoken).
