SUMMARY

Optel is actively looking for an electrical designer for its Quebec office. Working within a multidisciplinary project design team, the electrical designer's main mandate is to carry out 2D and 3D drawings of our products / projects according to customer requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and develop electrical systems in link with customer needs;
  • Use electrical design modeling software (EPLAN) to create plans according to project specifications while respecting established standards;
  • Collaborate in the optimization of manufacturing processes by modifying the design of equipment to support the manufacture, assembly and installation of components;
  • Analyze and interpret information such as technical specifications or reports related to electrical engineering;
  • Act as an electrical reference by answering questions and requests from customers and internal teams;
  • Maintain the company's reputation by complying with the principles of good design and various applicable regulations and standards;
  • Generate lists of material, selection and creation of the new component necessary for the execution of the project;
  • Support and ensure the proper execution of the project during the manufacturing, quality control, installation and any other phases requiring the support of the design team;
  • Actively participate in the continuous improvement of the department;

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • DEC in electrical engineering, DEP or equivalent experience;
  • Functional English an asset;
  • Demonstrate autonomy and a good sense of priorities;
  • Knowledge of ePlan software (Asset);
  • Knowledge of SEE-Electrical software (Asset);
  • Knowledge of product certification standards is an asset (CE, UL, CSA, GAMP,...);
  • Demonstrate thoroughness and attention to details;
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing environment.
