Cloud Operations Supervisor

 

SUMMARY

The Cloud Supervisor plays a hands-on role in the daily operations and maintenance of our organization's cloud infrastructure. This individual will ensure optimal performance, security, and efficiency of our cloud-based solutions, while guiding a team of cloud engineers or technicians.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Cloud Operations: Oversee the day-to-day operations of cloud environments, including deployment, configuration, and resource management.
• Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Proactively monitor cloud environments, identify performance issues, and lead troubleshooting efforts.
• Incident Management: Respond to and resolve cloud-related incidents swiftly, minimizing downtime and impact to the business.
• Security and Compliance: Implement and maintain security policies and procedures to protect cloud assets. Ensure compliance with industry regulations (e.g., SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA).
• Automation: Develop and implement scripts and tools to automate routine cloud management tasks.
• Team Leadership: Mentor and guide cloud engineers or technicians, providing technical guidance and fostering a collaborative environment.
• Capacity Planning: Monitor resource utilization and assist in capacity planning for future cloud needs.
• Cost Optimization: Analyze cloud usage and identify areas for cost savings and optimization.
• Vendor Management: Collaborate with cloud service providers and manage relationships effectively.

 

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in cloud operations or engineering.
• Proven experience with major cloud providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Certifications in cloud technologies are highly valued.
• Strong understanding of networking, security, and virtualization concepts.
• Proficiency with cloud monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
• Experience with scripting or programming languages  is a plus.
• Demonstrated leadership and team building skills.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
