SUMMARY

The purchaser’s main mandate is to carry out purchases of material for the company and help manage the inventory.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Purchase parts from current suppliers;
  • Purchase parts specific to customer projects or standard parts for inventory;
  • Research potential suppliers;
  • Negotiate prices;
  • Negotiate purchasing terms;
  • Manage delays in merchandise delivery;
  • Manage merchandise return in case of non-conformity reports;
  • Manage incoming and outgoing inventory parts;
  • Manage inventory;
  • Work in close collaboration with other departments.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • College diploma in a relevant field;
  • Experience in supply chain management;
  • Experience with ERP/MRP manufacturing systems;
  • Good French and English skills;
  • Knowledge of electronics (an asset);
  • Knowledge of mechanics (an asset);
  • Knowledge of optics (an asset).
