Quebec City, May 12, 2018 — OPTEL is proud to be considered as a leader in health, safety and wellness in the workplace by recently obtaining the Healthy Enterprise certification for its headquarters in Québec City. The company hopes to be a role model for other organizations wanting to get started.
Granted by the Bureau de normalisation du Québec (BNQ 9700-800), this certification confirms OPTEL’s good practices regarding the prevention and promotion of health in the workplace.
With the management team being greatly involved, the company was able to concretize its continuous improvement process. OPTEL reviewed its food offer at its headquarters entirely by eliminating sugary drinks, implementing a micro-market with healthy meals and also giving out free fruits to its employees and visitors. Furthermore, OPTEL encourages its employees to take part in sports activities by paying the registration fees for regional events. For the first time, the company also held many activities for the Semaine de la prévention en santé mentale (Mental Health Prevention Week).
The health of employees and the management team has always been a priority for OPTEL. To do so, the company got involved by developing a culture of health prevention and promotion. It favours the implementation of actions recognized as efficient and strives to offer its employees and management team a stimulating, secure workplace, endorsing physical, psychological and social health.
