Quebec City, June 4, 2018 — OPTEL GROUP is proud to announce that it has been attributed “Silver” status by business sustainability experts, EcoVadis, further reinforcing OPTEL’s position as a supplier of choice, who is mindful of its social and environmental impact.

Obtaining this recognition clearly demonstrates OPTEL’s leadership and commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and is perfectly aligned with the company’s values, as OPTEL has always strived to use its technologies to solve real, concrete problems instead of creating new ones.

OPTEL is therefore very pleased to share its score of 51%, which is fairly higher than the average score obtained by other recognized companies. A rating of 39% is required in order to be granted the recognition. The EcoVadis methodology is at the core of the CSR analysis system, covering 21 criteria across four themes covering the environment, fair labor practices, ethics/fair business practices, and the supply chain. This recognition is an important part of OPTEL’s continuous improvement efforts and also allows the company to extend its service offering, since this accreditation is required by many high-level corporations when selecting their providers.

OPTEL can now boast its position among leading multinationals such as Nestlé, Johnson & Johnson, Heineken, Coca-Cola Enterprises, Nokia, L’Oréal and Bayer, all of which are also recognized by EcoVadis.
