Every day, Optel Vision’s advanced technology is relied upon to inspect millions of pharmaceutical products and packages worldwide. Optel Vision is looking to hire immediately full-time; permanent, remote based Field Service Technicians to perform installation, service and upgrades to our automated vision inspection systems.
Our highly skilled, professional, and talented Field Service Engineers serve the vital role and primary contact when delivering, installing and supporting our advanced optical inspection systems. Field Technicians are dispatched from their homes to customer locations throughout the Latin America. All applicants must have a valid Passport and local driver’s license. Field Installers are required to travel frequently every month, typical assignments average 3 weeks per project. Due to certain locations or customer scheduling, technicians may be required to travel on weekends, or stay-over during weekends. (Paid travel time and paid weekend waiting time)
Desired Skills and Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of hands-on technical work experience in the installing, repairing, troubleshooting electronics, automated packaging or manufacturing machinery. Related industrial engineering and electronics experience will be considered. Veterans with military training and electronic repair experience are encouraged to apply. Any combination of related studies and work experience will be considered.
Required Technical Knowledge and Skills: Must have hands on experience in the maintenance and support of electronic components or mechanical systems. Related experience can include; production line mechanic, line electrician, packaging machinery engineer, and general field technician responsible for product installation, support and repairs.
Must have knowledge of electronic engineering experience; working with circuitry and troubleshooting electrical components to the board level, drilling / mounting in various materials. Experience with wiring, wiring harnesses, terminating and testing circuits and components. Experienced in the installation of electronic-mechanical machinery or optics equipment is ideal.
Must understand and interpret schematic diagrams, understand electrical symbols, terminology, calculate voltage and circuit flow. Be responsible and confident when installing sensitive electronic hardware, software and OEM equipment.·
Must have some experience with IT Networking. Be familiar working with networking hardware, IP processes / connectivity, networking communications. IP addressing, identifying domains, routers, cables, switches, etc. Be familiar with software programming. Programming / writing code is not a requirement, some knowledge of C++ coding or line level programming is a plus.
Required Education: Applicants must provide a diploma or certificate(s) from a recognized school, university or technical program; related to an applied science, electronics, and mechanical, electro-mechanical engineering or similar related field. Bachelors, Diploma/Certificate in degree in Electronic Engineering, Electronics or related field is a plus. This is a technician level position.
Language Requirements: All Field Engineers must be able to clearly speak and write in English. Secondary language skills are highly desired. Field Technicians with the ability to deliver customer training in Spanish is a major plus. Clear communication and professional presentation skills are required.
Travel Requirements: This position requires frequent and extended travel. All candidates must be prepared, ready and available to travel a minimum of 3 weeks per month. Weekend over-stays may be required when installations exceed 5 business days. All Field Engineers must be able to travel freely between the US and Canada by commercial airline.
Required Training Period: 12 weeks of paid hands-on training located in Limerick, Ireland or Quebec City,Canada. New hires are then required to complete 6-8 weeks of shadowing assignments for on-the job training. All new hires are required to pass progressive technical tests and skill based functional tests throughout the entire training period.
All applicants must pass a Technical Skills Test, prior to advancing to the Skype based technical interview. Candidates must be in good health, with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
Salary and Benefits: 40 hour weekly salary, Paid Comp-Time paid time travelling, waiting, weekends, working overtime. Tools, laptop, Mobile phone and uniform provided.
